Ever since September 2003 I have been playing this game. A game developed by a Korean Company (Gravity) and being licensed in our own Philippine shores by Level Up Games. This was the first game that shook the whole Philippines by storm. From home PC upgrades that can handle the said game, online camaderie, cosplay events and the broadband evolution.
Here are my Top 3 Moments in Playing Philipine Ragnarok Online. They might be simple to some of you hardcore players but for me who is a casual gamer, they are the highlights of my pRO Career.
My 3rd Philippine Ragnarok Top Moment: My Online Wedding
I got married to my current girlfriend then when the patch was made available. I collected the items needed and we got hitched with my brother being the sole witness. Ragnarok was our stress reliever but it is mostly the source of our quarrels since she was at home using dial up and I was in a cafe with a business plan. (Imagine the lag difference that we are experiencing) So I leave it to your imaginations on how our vocal disagreements would happen.
(Hint: it will be started by a PM or a SMS message that would say "Bakit mo ako iniwanan? namatay tuloy ako, ikaw na nga lang maglaro! Hmp!)

PS: Sadly we are not together anymore but hey, these would still be the things that I will cherish since it was fun doing it online.
My 2nd Philippine Ragnarok Top Moment: MVPing Osiris
I was a poor Acolyte/Priest way back in Chaos when I started the 2003 - 2004 Era and when I was in Morroc, I was always being pwned by this monster who has so many minions (Osiris and Baphomet where my suki's since I often play support for my Archer friends (naalala ko pa yung hidden Temple kung saan ako palagi nakakarne on my way to the designated map where in we are playing, yung may mga Savages sa hidden temple where in an Archer can snipe them if one has the right spot).
So when the new classes where made available and Chaos was becoming too laggy for my 2 year old computer at that time. I joined my brother (who left Chaos and joined at first his future cousin-in-law for WoE duties for the Ninja Guild) in the Iris Server and created Blacksmith and an Alchemist. Then by 2006 (yes, 3 years after I started) I achieved level 99 and proceeded in making a Biochemist (Creator pa nga ang tawag dun dati eh). With this new build and armed with a powerful skill I decided to hunt down the creatures who made my life miserable during my Acolyte/Priest days. So we went MVP hunting to hone our skills against the bosses of Midgard/ After days of trying along with numerous flywings and acid bottles (not to mention lost exp percentages) I finally MVP'd Osiris (with some help from my brother of course) and that made me breathe a sigh of relief since I was not hoping for it.

PS: Sadly, Old Man Baphomet is still pwning me as of this writing. ^^
My Top Philippine Ragnarok Top Moment: Playing with my brother.
I was never close to anyone on my family. If anyone knows me, they would say that me and my brother are the exact opposites. Some even thought during highschool that he was not my brother since he is a bit of a delinquent and I'm on the nerdy side on highschool. I finished engineering and he finished business management so we graduated on the same year. At first i was the only one who plays Ragnarok on our home PC and one day during January 2004 he asked me if I can teach him how to play. Since I was still looking for work at that time (Board Exam results where just released by December) I said yes, We went to a cafe and I tanked his archer on the Savage map (uy, hindi na sa Hidden Temple ha, Alam ko na yung map ng mga savages sa may elder willows) until he was a Hunter. This went on for several weekends until I became employed and he was recruited by his future cousin-in-law in the Iris Server. This ended my pRO career since work was taking so much time (weekend work in a Software House is always normal). Yes I was in hiatus for a while.
When stress was overcoming me I asked my brother if I can join them in the Iris server (during the New Character Classes Patch). He said yes, and since he is using a Priest character (nakapag-practice na siya sa mali mali kong build na pari sa Chaos) he tanked my Merchant until I became an Alchemist. This went on until we transcended and he becoming more active in Woe duties.
Playing with my brother made me know him much more. That there was fire inside him when he sets his heart and mind on it. That he is a kind soul who always helps his friends and even newbies. This made me see him in a new light and I thank Philippine Ragnarok Online for giving me the chance to bond with my brother and letting me get to know the person much more.
PS: we still fight and we sometimes still hate each other. He is married now (tae, naunahan pa ako... eh ako yung kuya) and knowing him now, I think he will be a great father to his children just like our parents to us. ^^
